Internships at Surge

We’ve built an environment for Sri Lanka’s best talent thrive. Our teams help scale startups to Fortune 500 companies across the world with an open mind and the willingness to constantly test and learn.

Internships are paid and go on for six months. Intakes happen twice a year — in September and March, and applications open 4 to 8 weeks before the program begins.

Types of internship

Work alongside teams of experts, gathering the skills and attitude required to take your career forward.

UI/UX design internship

Understanding user and client requirements to help create optimized user experiences with tools such as Adobe XD and Figma.

Web development internship

Building WordPress websites following best practices using page builders with basic knowledge of integrations, SEO, and PHP and Javascript coding.

Creative design internship

Brainstorming unique ideas and developing different types of creatives on Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.

Content strategy internship

Familiarizing with user intent through competitor research and analysis to help develop various content forms for SEO, social media, and paid media.

Software engineering internship

Participating in the full software development lifecycle for enterprise-grade products with development and business teams.

Business development internship

Building relationships with prospects through digital outreach with an understanding of Digital Marketing and interest in growing businesses.

Performance marketing internship

Leveraging competitor research and analysis to optimize marketing strategy using tools for SEO, PPC, CRO, and social listening.

Interview process

We’ve built a simple and consistent 3 step process to evaluate whether Surge is the right fit for you and vice versa.

Screening

HR screens your CV and you will be shortlisted if you match the requirements

Assignment

Shortlisted candidates will receive an assignment to help us understand your expertise

Interview

Your communication, problem-solving and technical skills will be assessed one-on-one

Offer

You will receive an email from HR within 3 to 4 days if you have gotten through
